ABOUT OUR SPORTS PROGRAM
Covenant Academy sports teams have a unique atmosphere! We use sports as an opportunity to grow kids in their faith and love for Christ. We are creating a positive environment for kids to succeed, have fun, focus on others, and to develop a work ethic and teamwork!
We believe children of all talents and skills should get the opportunity be a part of the teams! Our teams will be structured to bring the most out of the kids and to give everyone the opportunity to play! Our team sports are offered for boys and girls ages 11-19 (in school). Volleyball Dreams Academy offers opportunities for 8 years old and up.
Our goal is to create a family-friendly, wholesome and God-honoring opportunity for sports in our community.
Covenant Academy Sports Program was established in 2009 with the vision to bring athletics to the homeschooling community in the Treasure Valley. The Sports program has served over 100 youth since its founding. Covenant Academy Sports Program is affiliated with Covenant Academy, a K-12 private Christian school located in Meridian, Idaho. Liberty Thompson is the head varsity volleyball coach and she also oversees the Rebuilders ladies’ basketball program and skills development. Liberty co-founded the Covenant Academy Sports Program with her brother, Josiah Barrett, in 2009.
Liberty's favorite part about coaching with Covenant Academy is seeing the ladies she coaches grow in their athletic abilities, grow together as teammates, and learn about Jesus and life through sports. Her top coaching highlights have been winning the 2016 volleyball championship and taking four of her volleyball athletes on a missions trip to Haiti in 2017.
She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Daniel, family, friends, loves being an aunt, and playing basketball.

Josiah Barrett
Hello there! I am a Boise, Idaho native. Way back in 2017, I graduated as a homeschool student and I am currently studying audio engineering online. I played on Covenant Academy's Varsity Volleyball team for 3 years before I graduated. My favorite highlight was winning the Championship in 2016.
I love to stay busy so I work multiple jobs, a few being: Covenant Academy's Athletics Coordinator, Veranda Senior Living as a Life Enrichment Director, and a Sound Engineer at Calvary Boise Church. I also think volleyball is absolutely fabulous and love to play and coach as much as I am able to!

Josiah Barrett co-founded the Covenant Academy Sports Program with his sister, Liberty Thompson, in 2009. Josiah has been the head coach of the flag football since 2011, winning four championships. He has also coached JV Boys’ basketball and Varsity Girls’ basketball team.
Josiah enjoys the Idaho outdoors, ranching, and running.
